Purpose

The Delores and Charles Baker Scholarship is a need based scholarship for an underrepresented minority medical school student enrolled in an accredited program for the 2021-2022 academic year. Priority will be given to applicants that have an interest in health issues that impact rural populations and an interest in practicing in a rural setting.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are underrepresented minority medical school students enrolled in an accredited program for the 2021-2022 academic year. Applicants must have proof of U.S. citizenship or a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) approval letter.

Underrepresented minority groups include:

  • African American/Black
  • Hispanic/Latino
  • American Indian
  • Alaska Native
  • Native Hawaiian
  • Asian Americans of Vietnamese and Cambodian ancestry
  • Pacific Islander
