The Water Environment Federation is offering automatic samplers, training, and troubleshooting for small wastewater utilities to do wastewater-based disease surveillance for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. In addition to disease surveillance, samplers will enable improved understanding of organic, solids and nutrient loadings to wastewater treatment facilities. The primary project goal is to increase participation in wastewater surveillance by smaller, rural, and tribal communities.
Eligible applicants are small, rural, and tribal wastewater utilities.
At least 225 utilities will receive automatic samplers, training, and troubleshooting at no cost.
