Purpose

The Emergency Medicine Foundation will provide grants for research to improve healthcare access, delivery, utilization, quality, and outcomes of those affected by health disparities. Proposals are encouraged to propose or lay the groundwork for emergency department-based interventions that produce actionable evidence and/or reproducible findings to improve health outcomes for disparities groups.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Access to care
  • Coordination of care
  • Chronic disease management
  • Mental health and substance use disorders
  • Access to community resources
  • EMS services
  • Differences in pain care
  • Violence prevention strategies
  • Social determinants of health
  • Health policy
  • Impact of COVID-19
Eligibility

The principal investigator must have a primary faculty appointment in Emergency Medicine.
