Purpose

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) New Board Chair Leadership Program is a 5-part virtual leadership training program for new health center board chairs or those about to step into the board chair role. Training addresses the role of the board chair, board chair-CEO partnership, board meeting facilitation, navigating conflict, and board chair succession planning. The program also includes optional office hours to allow participants to address governance issues in real time as well as access to practical resources and tools to support their board's efforts.

Learning Objectives include:

  • Identify goals for their term
  • Apply strategies related to effective board meeting agendas and facilitation
  • Discuss techniques to enhance board governance and navigate group dynamics

Eligibility

Participants must either be a new board chair, a board chair-elect, or equivalent. An understanding of health center board roles is required.

Amount of funding

National Association for Community Health Centers member rate is $600. The non-member rate is $1,200.
