Purpose

The Rural Health Care Outcomes Accelerator is a 3-year initiative designed to eliminate rural health disparities by helping hospitals and clinicians provide high-quality evidence-based care.

Assistance will include:

  • Free access to Get With The Guidelines quality programs for coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke
  • Work with American Heart Association Quality Improvement Consultants
  • Rural learning collaboratives, access to professional education through The American Heart Association's Lifelong Learning Center, and access to clinical experts and thought leaders at conferences and seminars
  • Recognition events and publication opportunities
Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Federally designated Critical Access Hospitals
  • Short-term acute care facilities and rural hospital located in Rural Urban Commuting Area Codes (RUCA) indicating rural and isolated geographic locations (Codes 4-10 and 99)

The accelerator will be offered at no cost for up to 700 rural hospitals.
