Purpose

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services provides grants to contribute to the capacity of federally-recognized tribes in California to prevent, prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from natural and man-made emergencies and disasters.

Applicants should propose projects that address areas for improvement as they relate to emergency management capabilities, and projects that fall into the state, regional, and national priority areas, including:

  • Mass care
  • Economic recovery
  • Planning
  • Operational coordination
  • Equity
  • Climate resilience
  • Readiness

Eligible uses of funding include:

  • Planning
  • Organizational activities
  • Equipment
  • Training
  • Exercises
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are federally recognized tribes in California.
