The NextFifty Initiative provides grants for innovative projects that support older adults and/or address issues around aging, such as quality of life and longevity.
Priority will be given to populations/communities that are considered the most underserved in the aging sector, including but not limited to:
- Communities of color
- Disabled
- Homeless
- LGBTQ+
- Low-income
- Rural
- Immigrant/refugee
- Other marginalized and vulnerable communities
Eligible applicants include governmental entities; institutions of higher education; nonprofit entities organized under sections 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) of the IRS code; and nonprofit entities with an eligible fiscal sponsor.
Projects must intentionally focus on the aging or the aging-disabled population age 50 and over and/or the caregivers of these populations.
Maximum grant requests are not limited, with the following requirements:
- Nonprofit organizations that have not yet completed an external audit or those with an audit older than 12/31/2020 will be limited to funding requests of $30,000 or less.
- Nonprofit organizations with an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less are eligible to request more than $30,000 but must submit an external Financial Review or Compilation in lieu of an audit.
- Organizations planning to request $250,000 or more are required to schedule a phone call with a program officer before submitting an application.
