Purpose

The NextFifty Initiative provides grants for root cause, systems-level, and programmatic innovations to change aging.

Projects should support older adults through their work in one or more priority areas:

  • Ending ageism
  • Advancing digital equity
  • Supporting aging in place
  • Making aging more affordable

Applications will be evaluated on:

  • Connection to older adults
  • Alignment with priority areas
  • Improving economic well-being for older adults
  • Innovation
  • Partnerships
  • Need for funds
Eligibility

Eligible applicants include governmental entities; institutions of higher education; nonprofit entities organized under sections 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) of the IRS code; and nonprofit entities with an eligible fiscal sponsor.

Projects must intentionally focus on the aging or the aging-disabled population age 50 and over and/or the caregivers of these populations.

The project period is 1-3 years.

Application process

Use the form at the bottom of the program website to schedule a meeting. Promising projects that pass eligibility and program criteria guidelines will be invited to submit a proposal.
