The Minnesota Office of Rural Health and Primary Care will provide loan repayment assistance for registered nurses in Minnesota nonprofit hospitals or public hospitals who agree to practice work in-person in direct patient care in the state.
There is a service requirement for a minimum of 2 years.
Registered nurses (RNs) must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Have a permanent and unrestricted license to practice independently and unsupervised in the state of Minnesota by March 1, 2027
- Work in a nonprofit or public hospital located in Minnesota by the contract start date
- Have qualified educational loans that include government, commercial, and foundation loans for actual costs paid for tuition and reasonable education/living expenses related to the past graduate or undergraduate education
- Have at least $6,000 in loans that are not in current or active default
$6,000 for a minimum of 2 years, not to exceed $12,000 total or the balance of the designated loans, whichever is less.
