Purpose

CareQuest Institute for Oral Health offers funding for projects that address complex and upstream drivers of oral health disparities. Priority populations include racial and ethnic minorities, rural communities, people with disabilities, and older adults. Projects should demonstrate intent toward responding to the needs of historically marginalized communities.

Two grant opportunities are available:

  • Advancing Equity Through Oral Health Fund which supports efforts to dismantle unjust structures and systems that drive disparities across oral health, access to care, treatment, and outcomes. Priorities include:
    • Policy and advocacy
    • Care delivery
    • Community capacity
    • Research
  • Emergent & Relief Fund which respond to pervasive and intersectional issues that impact underserved communities disproportionately across the country. Includes funding for:
    • Emerging opportunities: Projects aiming to develop innovative oral health approaches to respond to needs of consumers within and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic
    • Relief efforts: Natural disaster emergency response work, not necessarily related to oral health
    • Urgent needs: One-time urgent needs to support clinics and organizations through short-term challenges
