Purpose

The Aya Locums Future Leaders in Medicine Scholarship will support students underrepresented in the healthcare professions who are pursuing specific professional and graduate level degree programs.

Professions include:

  • Doctor of medicine (MD)
  • Doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO)
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Nurse anesthetists
  • Physician assistants

Underrepresented populations include:

  • African American/Black
  • American Indian
  • Alaska native
  • Hispanic/Latino(a)(x)
  • Native Hawaiian/Pacific islander
  • Mainland Puerto Rican
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are students in the specific educational programs who identify as part of a population that is chronically underrepresented in medicine.
