Purpose

Capital Link is offering a two-part virtual learning collaborative designed to assist health centers that anticipate the need for a capital project during the next 1-5 years. The first part is for the early project planning stages. The second part for later project planning stages will take place in the spring of 2024.

The collaborative will provide practical direction and tools for planning, financing, and completing a capital project. Through a series of four virtual meetings, health centers learn the basics of capital planning, financing, and project development.

Topics:

  • Organizational and financial readiness
  • Evaluating the market
  • Determining operating model and space requirements
  • Assembling an internal project team and hiring project professionals
  • Initial stages of design development

The learning collaborative has two primary components:

  1. Group learning: Through a series of 4, approximately one hour, virtual meetings, health centers will learn the basics of capital planning, financing, and project development.
  2. Individualized planning services: Each session will include exercises and planning templates that participants can adapt for their individual organization and projects. In addition, some individualized guidance from Capital Link consultants will be available to help participating health centers understand specific aspects of their project planning and financing.
Eligibility

The program is designed for health centers that anticipate the need for a capital project during the next 1-5 years.

Applicants must commit to engage in all sessions and exercises. Written consent from the health center's leadership for participation in the Collaborative is required.
