Purpose

The Rural Health Association of Tennessee (RHA) is offering scholarships for certified labor doula training for people who live in rural areas of Tennessee.

Training includes:

  • Certified Labor Doula
  • Infant and Child First Aid Certification
  • Mental Health First Aid Certification
Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Have a passion for women's health and helping others
  • Sign an agreement to complete training and contract with RHA to provide services
  • Live in a rural community. Preference will be given to candidates in Macon, Clay, Pickett, Smith, Jackson, Cannon, Overton, Fentress, Putnam, DeKalb, White, Cumberland, Van Buren, and Warren counties.

Amount of funding

The total value of the scholarship is $5,000, which includes $25 per hour for the time in training.

After successfully completing training, RHA will provide paid practical experience and support, which will include administrative support and $45 per hour for contract services supporting pregnant women.
