The Disaster Circuit Rider Technical Assistance Grants Program will provide funding for technical assistance providers to provide on-site assistance to help eligible rural communities mitigate damage to water systems caused by presidentially declared disasters in Fiscal Year 2022.
Funds may be used to:
- Identify and evaluate solutions to impacted water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste challenges
- Help communities develop and prepare applications for related loans and grants
- Deliver training and other resources to operators, managers, and other system personnel
- Other technical assistance efforts that support the resiliency and capacity of eligible systems
Eligible applicants include:
- Public bodies
- Organizations operated on a nonprofit basis
- Federally recognized tribes
Eligible areas are rural areas and towns with populations of not more than 35,000, including federally recognized tribal lands and colonias.
Estimated total program funding:
$8,000,000
Project period: 2 years
