Minnesota Hunger Free Campus Grants
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) will provide funding for campuses in Minnesota to achieve and/or sustain the criteria for Hunger Free Campus Designation.
Minimum designation criteria:
- Have an established on-campus food pantry or partnership with a local food bank to provide regular, on-campus food distributions
- Provide information to students on SNAP, MFIP, and other programs that reduce food insecurity
- Notify students in work-study employment of their potential eligibility for SNAP benefits and provide information to those students about eligibility criteria and how to apply for benefits
- Hold or participate in one hunger awareness event per academic year
- Have an established emergency assistance grant that is available to students
- Establish a hunger task force that meets a minimum of three times per academic year and includes a minimum of 2 currently enrolled students
Eligible applicant organizations physically located in Minnesota:
- Tribal colleges
- Nonprofit, degree-granting, private postsecondary institutions registered with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education
Award ceiling: $25,000 per year

Estimated total program funding:
$360,000
Requires a 50% match of either in-kind contributions or other resources.
