Purpose

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Builds Program will offer funding to address and reduce the number of persons experiencing homelessness by adding new units of permanent supportive housing (PSH) through new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation.

Program goals:

  • Increasing supportive housing for elderly and disabled people - Permanent supportive housing projects that are dedicated to serving elderly individuals and/or individuals with a physical disability in a medical respite setting
  • Partnering with housing, health, and service organizations - Projects that integrate healthcare organizations into the provision of housing
Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • County governments
  • City or township governments
  • Native American Tribal governments (Federally recognized)
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
  • State governments
  • Special district governments
  • Faith-based organizations that otherwise qualify
Applications from rural and Tribal communities are encouraged.
