The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) is offering a 12-month program focusing on capacity building. Participants work with a rural health development coach who serves as a guide, thought partner, and connector to help strengthen internal processes and long-term organizational capacity.
The development coaches will provide customized support through regular virtual meetings, 2-3 site visits, and ongoing communication.
Assistance may include, but not be limited to:
- Assess organizational strengths and challenges
- Identify priorities for growth and improvement
- Develop strategies that build long-term capacity within existing systems
- Think through capacity-building strategies
- Identify potential funding opportunities and resources
- Understand and prepare for funding processes
- Evaluating community health needs assessments
- Reviewing local data sources to better understand community processes
Eligible participants are established rural health organizations with a demonstrated need for capacity-building support. Applicants must be located in a area designated as rural by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy and not have received significant federal funding in the past 5 years.
Applicants may include, but are not limited to:
- Medical centers
- Nonprofit organizations
- Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Rural Health Clinics
- Local governments
- Tribal governments
There is no cost to participate.
