The National Rural Health Association provides a certification program for rural hospital Board Trustees. The program is a combination of self-guided and group learning, with a time commitment of 1-1.5 hours per week.
Learning topics include, but are not limited to:
- New member orientation
- Elements of board leadership
- Board member responsibilities
- Healthcare finance
- Community health
- Strategic planning
- Quality and patient safety
The next session begins on January 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern.
The program is designed for Board members of rural hospitals.
Tuition is $2,000. Payment plans are available.
A link to the online enrollment form is available on the program website.
Registration forms are accepted on an ongoing basis. After deadlines, registration is then collected for the next course cycle.
