The National Community Pharmacists Association Foundation's Rural Pharmacy Ownership Accelerator is a comprehensive, free, 12-month virtual program designed to equip aspiring pharmacy owners with the knowledge, resources, and connections needed to successfully open and operate a pharmacy in a rural community within the next 3-5 years. Program goals include:
- Increase rural pharmacy access
- Reduce barriers to ownership
- Enable strategic partnerships
- Build a supportive community
Program Structure:
- Months 1-3: Foundation and planning
- Months 4-6: Financial strategy and operations
- Months 7-9: Compliance and service expansion
- Months 10-12: Partnerships and launch
This program is ideal for individuals who have identified a specific rural community or region to open a pharmacy within the next 3-5 years, are taking over an existing rural pharmacy, or are exploring partnership opportunities with pharmacy groups. Pharmacy students must be in year 3 or 4 of their program. 15 participants will be selected with priority given to applicants with clear ownership plans, strong commitment to rural service, and readiness to engage in the program.
This program is offered at no cost.
