Rural Graduate Medical Education (GME) Administrator Leadership Institute

The Rural GME Administrator Leadership Institute is a one-year professional development program designed to enhance leadership skills and expand networks for graduate medical education administrators and coordinators serving in rural and shortage area residency programs.
The tentative program agenda begins on April 8, 2026 and goes through April, 2027.
Participants are expected to:
- Attend all monthly sessions
- Avoid conflicting meetings and appointments
- Be fully engaged in the learning process
- Complete a project that will be virtually presented to peers
- Invest an estimated 3-4 hours per month which includes sessions, meeting individually with a mentor, and project work
Eligible participants are individuals interested in rural GME that:
- Have at least 3-5 years as an administrator/coordinator or similar professional experience
- Are employed by or have a strong connection to a rural or shortage area program
- Are able to provide a CV and letter of support from the Program Director or supervisor
The program cost is $350.
There are a limited number of $175 scholarships.
