Food Justice for Kids Prize
The Food Justice for Kids Prize offers grants to nonprofits, native communities, schools, and school districts working to ensure all children can access, learn about, and engage with nutritious, culturally relevant food at school and in communities. Eligible programs will primarily serve children under 18 years. Focus areas include projects and policy work supporting kids through:
- Advancing food sovereignty or engaging with, gathering, growing, and cooking Indigenous foods
- Learning, growing, and cooking healthy and culturally relevant foods; eating nutritious and culturally relevant school meals and integrating local food in schools; or improving access to school meals
Eligible applicants include:
- 501(c)(3) public charities or their fiscal sponsors
- Federally recognized tribes
- Indian tribal governments
- Public schools with 501(c)(3) public charity status
At least 2 of the 14 grants will be awarded to organizations in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
Up to $100,000 will be awarded to 14 applicants.
Applicants may be nominated or apply. Nominations are due April 21, 2026 and applications are due April 28, 2026. A link to the application instructions and the online forms for nominations and applications are available on the program website.
