California Digital Literacy and Access Grants
The California State Library is offering funding to help libraries in California improve access to high speed broadband and improve digital literacy in their communities.
Activities may include:
- Digital navigation services for library users
- Digital literacy training and classes for library users
- AI and/or internet safety classes or programs for library users
Essential programs and services that libraries can provide include:
- Public internet access
- Online public access catalogs and reference services
- Circulation and inter-library loans
- EBooks, audiobooks, and streaming services
- Live streams/access to events at other locations
- Homework help
- Support for job seekers
- Literacy services
- Computer and internet literacy and skills courses
- Telehealth services
- Support for individual and group online learning
- New community services and programs
- Support economic development in the community
California public library jurisdictions are eligible to apply.
Award ceiling: $20,000
Award floor: $5,000
Project period: September 1, 2026 - June
30, 2027
Estimated total program funding:
$250,000
