Purpose

The Indigenous Tomorrows Fund offers grants for Native-led and Native-serving organizations and collectives whose work is accountable to Indigenous communities and rooted in holistic well-being.

Project priorities include:

  • Creating spaces for youth to lead or be meaningfully involved in cultural practices like spirituality, language, artistic expression, and good citizenship
  • Involving youth in programs and practices that place them into relationships with different generations
  • Access to culturally grounded healthcare that supports youth physical, mental, and spiritual nourishment and works to transform the material conditions that affect well-being
  • Reclamation, maintenance, and protection of Indigenous foodways, lands, and water as one interconnected system.
  • Cultivating strong youth leadership rooted in cultural values and accountability to build thriving, engaged communities
Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Native-led and Native-serving 501(c)(3) organizations and collectives across the U.S. and its territories
  • Federally and state-recognized Tribal Nations, and their affiliated/sponsored/chartered entities and governmental programs or initiatives
  • Fiscally sponsored projects of a 501(c)(3) organization that are Native-led and/or Native-serving

Additional requirements:

  • Work is Native-led and/or Native-serving and accountable to an Indigenous community
  • The approach is grounded in cultural values
  • Work centers Native youth in a primary way such as leaders, participants, those served, or as the mechanism through which change happens
  • The work lies within at least one of the five priorities (bundles)
  • The work is part of a larger ecosystem of community health and self- determination
  • Willing to define success metrics and return to youth grantmakers to share learning

Award amounts:

  • Seed grants - For newer, community embedded organizations and projects: $25,000
  • Sustain grants - For established organizations with demonstrated community accountability: $65,000
  • Synergize grants - For organizations and collaboratives that have the capacity, staffing, and reach for systems change: $100,000
