Purpose

Workforce+ is a national rural healthcare workforce certification program designed to help rural healthcare organizations strengthen recruitment, retention, and workforce stability. Workforce+ equips workforce and HR professionals with practical, rural-focused strategies that support long-term organizational sustainability.

Program goals:

  • Strengthen recruitment and retention strategies
  • Reduce turnover
  • Enhance workforce and HR expertise
  • Support long-term organizational sustainability
  • Build stronger, more engaged healthcare teams
  • Improve access to quality care in rural communities

Participants will engage in 12 live virtual sessions led by expert faculty, covering the full employee lifecycle in rural healthcare workforce development. Participants will also have access to discussion forums and a resource library. Curriculum covers both pre- and post-employment topics including:

  • Workforce planning
  • Recruitment and sourcing
  • Legal and ethical hiring
  • Interviewing and onboarding
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Employer branding
  • Performance management and employee development
  • Employee engagement and retention
  • Employee and labor relations
  • Workplace safety
  • Leadership development and succession planning
  • HR analytics and continuous improvement

Participants earn the Workforce+ professional certification upon completing all modules and passing a final examination.

Eligibility

Ideal participants are human resources, workforce, administrative, and operational professionals in all types of rural healthcare organizations and facilities.

Amount of funding

$1,995 per participant. Group pricing may be available for cohorts of 5 or more.
