Funding to strengthen the infrastructure of tribal public health systems by strengthening leadership and workforce, improving access to tribal-specific data, adapting evidence-informed programs, and improving policies and practices to increase sustainability. This is a supplemental funding opportunity for current grantees.

Public Health Scholarship Program Inactive
Grants to strengthen the public health workforce by providing support to organizations to develop scholarship programs that incentivize individuals to pursue training and careers in public health. Projects should focus on workforce shortages, populations at highest risk for health disparities, low health literacy, social determinants of health, and infrastructure to provide necessary services in rural and underserved communities.

Environmental Justice Small Grants Program - Tribal Governments Inactive
Grants to support community-driven projects designed to engage, educate, and empower communities to better understand local environmental and public health issues and develop strategies for addressing those issues, building consensus in the community, and setting community priorities. Projects should help residents of underserved communities understand and address local environmental and public health issues. The 2022 opportunity is limited to federally recognized tribal governments to establish or modify public participation programs where fair treatment and meaningful participation priorities have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
