Sep 22, 2020 - Notice of a final rule from the Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Rural Housing Service, and Rural Utilities Service implementing statutory provisions found in Section 6401 of the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018. Section 6401 expands Strategic Economic and Community Development plans to include all programs covered by Title XIV of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act (CONACT) or programs administered through the Rural Development mission area. The name of SECD plans is updated to "Strategic Community Investment Plans." This rule is effective September 22, 2020.

Sep 15, 2020 - Announcement from USDA's Rural Business-Cooperative Service inviting applications for loans and grants under the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) Programs for fiscal year 2021. Awards will be made based on the amount of funding available through the appropriations process. Projects should focus on achieving e-connectivity for rural communities, developing the rural economy, and supporting the rural workforce, among other things.

Sep 1, 2020 - Announcement from the USDA Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Rural Housing Service, and Rural Utilities Service of guarantee fee rates, guarantee percent for guaranteed loans, the periodic retention fee, and fees for the issuance of the loan note guarantee prior to construction completion for FY 2021 for the following loans programs: 1) Community Facilities, 2) Water and Waste Disposal (WWD), 3) Business and Industry, and 4) Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). These fees are effective on October 1, 2020.

Aug 21, 2020 - Notice announcing the implementation of certain provisions published in the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 related to funding allocations for persistent poverty counties served by Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBSC), Rural Housing Service (RHS) and the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) agencies. The notice is applicable beginning August 21, 2020.
