May 20, 2020 - The Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 43 rural and urban applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program. $16.87 million in funding will assist the healthcare providers in providing telehealth services during the coronavirus pandemic.

May 20, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provided $225 million to over 4,500 Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) for COVID-19 testing. The funding is provided through the Paycheck Protection Program and Healthcare Enhancement Act and may be used to expand testing capacity, procure supplies for testing, train staff, report data, and build facilities to support COVID-19 response efforts.

May 19, 2020 - The Small Business Administration has published an additional interim final rule, supplementing the previous rules for the CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The new rule is effective May 19, 2020 and increases certain PPP loan amounts. Comments on the change are due by June 18, 2020.

May 19, 2020 - U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced details of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), which will provide $16 billion in direct payments to America's farmers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; applications can be submitted beginning May 26. Additionally, USDA's Farmers to Families Food Box program is partnering with distributors to purchase $3 billion in produce, dairy, and meat and deliver to those in need.

May 18, 2020 - Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai shared draft procedures for the $16 billion Phase I Rural Digital Opportunity Fund auction, which aims to expand broadband service across unserved areas of rural America. The FCC will vote on the final procedures on June 9, 2020.

May 18, 2020 - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is delivering $11 billion in new funding through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Indian Health Service (IHS) to support testing for COVID-19. Funding is provided by the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act to help states with their efforts to re-open America.

May 14, 2020 - The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorized $7.5 million in funding over ten years to expand rural broadband across seven states. This funding is the 12th wave of support from the Connect American Fund Phase II auction and will benefit 3,100 unserved rural homes and businesses.

May 14, 2020 - The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a new funding opportunity announcement (FOA) that will award $5 million to support studies that help understand the ways in which our health systems were impacted by COVID-19. The deadline for submitting applications is June 15, 2020.

May 13, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $15 million through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to 159 organizations across five health workforce programs. The funding aims to increase telehealth capabilities and maintain primary care services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
