May 8, 2020 - The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) partnered to present a series of regional webinars highlighting funding available to rural healthcare providers through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). A total of six webinars will be presented on May 11 and May 12, 2020.

May 8, 2020 - The Small Business Administration (SBA) has issued an interim final rule for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to supplement the previously posted interim final rules by providing guidance on nondiscrimination obligations and additional eligibility requirements. Comments on the changes are due by June 8, 2020.

May 7, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $583 million to 1,385 HRSA-funded health centers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and eight U.S. territories to expand COVID-19 testing. The funding is provided by the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act and will be used to expand the range of testing and testing-related activities to best address the needs of their local communities.

May 7, 2020 - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) extended the deadline for healthcare providers to attest the receipt of payments from the Provider Relief Fund and accept the Terms and Conditions. The funding will be used to support healthcare-related expenses or lost revenue from COVID-19 and providers receiving payments will now have 45 days.

May 6, 2020 - The Federal Communications Commission's Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 26 applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program. The list of awardees includes applicants that serve rural populations in Texas, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.
