Governor Larry Hogan Announces Federal Approval of “Maryland Model” All-Payer Contract
May 14, 2018 - Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, the Maryland Department of Health, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced federal approval of Maryland's Total Cost of Care All-Payer Model, or the "Maryland Model," contract. The version of this model approved in 2014 moved Maryland hospitals to a value-based care approach that provides greater coordination of care, expanded patient-care delivery, and collaboration of chronic disease management. This newly-approved version will extend the model across the state's health system.
