Michigan Physician Investigator Research Award
This program is for physicians who have an interest in health and medical care research related to one or more of the following:
- Quality of healthcare
- Cost of healthcare
- Appropriate access to health and medical care for Michigan residents
The purpose of this award program is to enable physicians to explore the merits of a research idea by providing seed money for a pilot study, feasibility study, or small research study.
Preferred research topics include:
- Major depression
- High cholesterol
- Coronary artery disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Alcohol use disorder
- Substance use disorder
- Psychotic disorder
- Crohn's disease/ulcerative colitis
Physicians based in Michigan are eligible to apply.
Up to $10,000.

Applications are accepted year round and are reviewed in April, July, and November.
