Kansas Bridging Plan

The Kansas Bridging Plan offers loan forgiveness to resident physicians working in primary care, obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN), and psychiatry who agree to a continuous 36-month service contract to work in rural areas of Kansas.
Eligible Kansas resident programs include:
- Family medicine
- Internal medicine
- Pediatrics
- Medicine-pediatrics
- Emergency medicine
- Psychiatry
- Child psychiatry
- Medicine-psychiatry
- Obstetrics and gynecology
The combined financial incentive can be up to $26,000. The loan principal is divided into 36 equal payments and is forgiven by that amount on a monthly basis. Interest, at the annual rate of 15%, is also forgiven on a monthly basis.
Up to 14 slots are for primary care, 3 slots for OB-GYN, and 3 slots for psychiatry.
