The Minnesota Nurse in Nursing Homes Loan Forgiveness Program offers loan repayment assistance to students in Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) programs or currently licensed RNs/LPNs who agree to practice in a licensed nursing home or intermediate care facility for persons with developmental disabilities in Minnesota.

Participants are required to serve a minimum of 2 years with the option to extend 2 additional years in nursing homes, intermediate care facilities for persons with developmental disabilities, or hospital owned nursing homes.


RN and LPN students, as well as currently licensed RNs and LPNs are eligible to apply.

Geographic coverage
Amount of funding

Up to $5,000 per year with a maximum of $20,000.
