Purpose

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part C Capacity Development Grants provides funding to assist public and nonprofit entities in their efforts to strengthen their organizational infrastructure and to increase their capacity to develop, enhance, or expand access to high quality HIV care and treatment for low-income people with HIV, especially for people not yet in regular HIV care, underserved populations, and rural communities.

Proposals must include one activity:

  • Electronic Health Record and Data Coordination: Improving how electronic health records (EHRs) connect with HIV data systems to reduce duplicate data entry, increase the accuracy of data collection and reporting, and improving care coordination and tracking of referrals. Activities must enhance or expand existing EHR systems to improve the quality, pharmacological safety, or efficiency. Funds cannot be used to purchase a brand-new EHR.
  • Telehealth: Improve access to care by reducing or eliminating the time needed to travel to and from appointments and lessening other social barriers that can cause people to miss appointments. Funded projects must develop and acquire telehealth equipment that demonstrates relevance to the project, cost-effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy of care, and ease of use.
  • Dental Equipment for Expanding Dental Service Capacity: Improve access to a comprehensive approach to oral healthcare including the co-location of oral healthcare services with outpatient ambulatory healthcare. Funded projects must create or expand a dental operatory in a clinic or mobile unit.
