Indian Health Service Pre-Graduate Scholarship Program
The Pre-Graduate Scholarship Program provides financial support for American Indian and Alaska Native (federally or state-recognized) students to enroll in courses leading to a bachelor’s degree in specific pre-professional areas, such as pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, and others as needed by Indian health programs. There is no service requirement attached to the scholarship.
Descendants and members of federally or state-recognized tribes are eligible. Applicants must have been accepted into a pre-graduate program leading to a baccalaureate degree in one of the following:
Financial aid is paid for the 10-month period from August 1 through May 31 of the next academic year, for up to 4 academic years full-time or 8 academic years part-time. This support covers tuition and required fees for health profession courses and additional educational and living expenses.
Scholarship recipients are also eligible to request funding for summer courses.
