This program gives health professions students in Wisconsin an opportunity to become immersed in Wisconsin's diverse communities and cultures while they explore healthcare delivery in medically underserved areas and learn from students in other disciplines.
The program offers 4 multi-day sessions at multiple regional sites during winter, spring, and summer breaks throughout the 2020 – 2021 year. Both virtual and in-person sessions are available. Site locations and the learning focus of each site are provided in the program flyer.
All students enrolled in health professions programs throughout the state's public and private colleges and universities are welcome to apply.
In past years, students have come from physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, nutritional science, social work, global health, public health, and physician assistant programs.
The program fee is $250 per participant for in-person sessions. The fee includes housing, most meals, group transportation by van, curriculum materials, and admissions to local museums/points of interest.
