Purpose

The Bachelor of Science Nursing Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance for Registered Nurses who agree to serve in one of the eligible geographic or approved sites in California.

Applicants must agree to a full-time service obligation for a minimum of 1 year.

Eligibility

California residents who are currently licensed RNs and practicing in an approved site are eligible to apply.

Eligible geographic areas and approved site designations:

  • California Nursing Schools
  • Children's Hospitals
  • Reproductive Health Clinics
  • Correctional Facilities
  • County-Operated Health Facilities
  • Health Professional Shortage Area – Primary Care
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)/FQHC Look-Alikes
  • Medically Underserved Areas
  • Native American Health Centers (NAHC)
  • Primary Care Shortage Areas (PCSA)
  • Public School Facilities
  • Registered Nurse Shortage Areas (RNSA)
  • Rural Health Clinics (RHC)
  • Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • State-Operated Health Facilities
  • Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Facilities
  • Veteran's Facilities

Up to $15,000

Recipients agree to a 1 year service obligation practicing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California.
