Purpose

The program will provide funding for an organization to disseminate and promote Federal Office of Rural Health Policy funded health research focused on rural healthcare to broad audiences, including decision makers and rural stakeholders at national, state, and community levels.

The awardee's responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to HRSA guidelines pertaining to acknowledgment and disclaimer on all products produced by HRSA award funds
  • Updating materials and resources based on the latest information on new, ongoing, and recently completed rural health research
  • Assessing the target audiences within the general public of rural health stakeholders to understand how to optimize dissemination strategies and provide information that aligns with their needs
  • Coordinating with HRSA-funded entities conducting rural health research activities to maximize the efficient use of federal funding
  • Developing brief research summaries using findings from research products on key topic areas for a general audience
  • Establishing evaluation metrics and tracking related data to measure the success of this cooperative agreement and the reach of rural health research
  • Using information gleaned from evaluation metrics to inform continuous improvement of dissemination outreach methods

  • Public, state-controlled, and private institutions of higher education
  • Native American tribal governments
  • Native American tribal organizations
  • Nonprofit organizations with and without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
  • For-profit organizations and small businesses
  • Faith-based organizations
