The Kansas Osteopathic Medicine Service Scholarship awards scholarships to osteopathic medical students pursuing a career in primary care medicine who agree to work in an underserved geographic area of Kansas. Each year of the scholarship obligates a year of service.
Applicants must be residents of Kansas and agree to serve in a underserved geographic area of Kansas upon graduation. Applicants may attend any accredited osteopathic school in the United States.
Primary Care Medicine includes:
- General internal medicine
- Pediatrics
- Family medicine
- Family practice
- Obstetrics and gynecology
- Geriatric medicine
- Emergency medicine
Underserved areas are designated as any Kansas county except:
- Douglas
- Johnson
- Sedgwick
- Shawnee
- Wyandotte
Award ceiling: $25,000 per
year, up to 4 years
Expected number of awards: 32
