Purpose

The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships for American Indian and Alaska Native students seeking certificate, undergraduate, and graduate studies at tribal colleges and universities and nonprofit, accredited schools in the United States.

Eligibility

Applicants must be an enrolled member of a federally or state-recognized tribe, or a descendant of an enrolled member. Other eligibility requirements depend on whether the applicant is a current high school or college student and whether the applicant is attending a tribal college/university or another accredited, nonprofit institution of higher education.

Amount varies by scholarship and average between $2,000 to $3,000.

Application process

Applications are accepted every year from February 1 to May 31. A link to the online application portal is available on the program website.
