Oklahoma Physician Loan Repayment Program

Loan repayment assistance for primary care physicians who agree to practice in rural communities in Oklahoma with the goal of providing medical care and services to underserved Oklahoma citizens with special emphasis on Medicaid recipients as authorized by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.


Eligible applicants are primary care physicians in the areas of:

  • Family medicine
  • Geriatrics
  • General internal medicine
  • General pediatrics
  • Obstetrics/gynecology
  • Emergency medicine

Physicians already serving in rural areas of Oklahoma are ineligible to apply.

Geographic coverage
Amount of funding

Up to $160,000 over a maximum of 4 years.

$25,000 first year, $35,000 second year, $45,000 third year and $55,000 for the final year. This is based on the amount of educational loans to be repaid.
