Grants for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas (HRTG)
This opportunity is only open to current grantees for the renewal of 2016 projects.
Grants for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas (HRTG) award funding to organizations that assist veterans in rural areas with transportation to VA medical centers and other VA and non-VA facilities for medical care.
Grantees should use innovative approaches to transportation. Grantees must demonstrate how existing relationships with state and local agencies would enhance program effectiveness. Programs must identify and serve veterans who otherwise would not be able to obtain medical care through conventional transportation options.
For this round of funding, only current 2016 veterans service organizations and state veterans service grantees are eligible to apply. A renewal grant will only be awarded if the proposed program will remain substantially the same as the program for which the original grant was awarded.
Award ceiling: $50,000
Expected number of awards: 15
Estimated total funding: $1,500,000
