Grants for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas (HRTG) award funding to organizations that assist veterans in rural areas with transportation to VA medical centers and other facilities for medical care.

Grantees should use innovative approaches to transportation. Grantees must demonstrate how existing relationships with state and local agencies would enhance program effectiveness. Programs must identify and serve veterans who otherwise would not be able to obtain medical care through conventional transportation options.

VA recognized Veteran Service Organizations and State veteran entities that do not currently have a HRTG grant are eligible to apply for this opportunity.

Current HRTG grantees may apply for renewal funding through a separate announcement by July 30, 2018.
