Grants for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas (HRTG) award funding to organizations that assist veterans in rural areas with transportation to VA medical centers and other VA and non-VA facilities for medical care.

Grantees should use innovative approaches to transportation. Grantees must demonstrate how existing relationships with state and local agencies would enhance program effectiveness. Programs must identify and serve veterans who otherwise would not be able to obtain medical care through conventional transportation options.

Veterans Service Organizations and State Veterans Service Agencies are eligible to apply.

For this round of funding, only current 2015 grantees are eligible. A renewal grant will only be awarded if the proposed program will remain substantially the same as the program for which the original grant was awarded.
