Vermont Educational Loan Repayment Program for Dental Professionals
Vermont Educational Loan Repayment Program for Dental Professionals provides loan repayment for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental therapists serving in designated shortage areas or documented special need areas in the state of Vermont.
Applicants must sign a 12-24 month service agreement and practice a minimum of 20 hours per week at designated sites.
Applicants must be United States citizens or nationals that live and work in Vermont as a licensed dentist, dental hygienist, or dental therapist.
Dentists/dental therapists:
- Current educational loan debt must exceed $25,000.
- Awards may range from $10,000-$25,000 per year for full-time and $5,000-$12,500 per year for half-time.
- Employer match is required in the amount of $10,000 minimum per year for full-time practitioners and $5,000 minimum per year for part-time practitioners.
Registered dental hygienists:
- Current educational loan debt must exceed $10,000.
- Awards may range from $5,000-$10,000 per year for full-time and $2,500-$5,000 per year for half-time.
- Employer match is required for a two-year award and encouraged for one-year awards. Match is $5,000 minimum per year for full-time practitioners and $2,500 minimum per year for part-time practitioners.
