Maine Health Access Foundation Discretionary Grants

Maine Discretionary Grants program awards funding to organizations working to expand access to care and improve health, especially for the uninsured and/or medically underserved in Maine.
Discretionary grants projects typically demonstrate one or more of the following key characteristics:
- Responds to an emerging issue, current need, or window of opportunity
- Plans for, pilots, or implements a new or creative approach to better serve groups or populations that face disproportionate barriers to accessing health services and achieving the best possible health
- Supports the work of smaller organizations that may have limited capacity to apply for other types of funding
Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, federally recognized tribes, governmental/public agencies, and educational institutions are eligible to apply
Project grants are typically under $5,000, but may go up to $10,000 for statewide projects.
