Maine Discretionary Grants program awards funding to organizations working to expand access to care and improve health, especially for the uninsured and/or medically underserved in Maine.

Funding can be used for:

  • Collaborative planning efforts that involve more than one organization
  • Pilot projects
  • Policy research and analysis
  • Minor equipment purchases that provide access to health services for people experiencing barriers to care
  • Activities with the potential to significantly improve healthcare delivery, coverage, or quality

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, federally recognized tribes, governmental/public agencies, and educational institutions are eligible to apply

Project grants are typically under $5,000, but may go up to $10,000 for statewide projects.
