The Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program offers loan repayment assistance to Maryland residents who provide full-time public service in Maryland state government agencies, local government agencies, or nonprofit agencies that serve low-income or underrepresented populations.
Eligible professions include:
- Nurses
- Physical and occupational therapists
- Speech pathologists
- Social workers
- Licensed clinical counselors
- Teachers
- Lawyers

Eligible applicants must have graduated from a Maryland institution.
The amount of repayment is based on the total amount of eligible loans. Awards can be made up to $10,000 per year.
