Purpose

The Nevada Health Service Corps offers loan repayment assistance to certain healthcare professionals who agree to practice in an approved area of Nevada. Applicants must practice for a period of 2 years.

Eligibility

Eligible professions include:

  • Physicians (MD, DO)
  • Physician assistants (PA)
  • Registered nurses (RN)
  • Primary care certified nurse practitioner (NP)
  • General and pediatric dentists (DDS, DMD)
  • Certified nurse midwives (CNM)
  • Pharmacists (Pharm)
  • Marriage and family therapists (MFT)
  • Health Service Psychologists (PhD)
  • Licensed clinical social workers (LCSW)
  • Licensed alcohol and substance abuse counselors (LADAC)
  • Licensed professional counselors (LPC)
  • Psychiatric nurse specialists (PNS)
  • Registered clinical dental hygienists (RDH)

Amount of funding

Up to $50,000 for a 2 year commitment with the possibility of renewing for 1 year for $25,000.

Application process

Applications are accepted and evaluated between September 1st and October 30th annually. Awards are distributed continuously throughout the cycle until all funds have been allocated.
