Purpose

The Nevada Health Service Corps offers loan repayment assistance to certain healthcare professionals who agree to practice in an approved area of Nevada. Applicants must practice for a period of 2 years.

Eligibility

Eligible professions include:

  • Physicians (MD, DO)
  • Physician assistants (PA)
  • Registered nurses (RN)
  • Nurse practitioner (NP)
  • General and pediatric dentists (DDS, DMD)
  • Dental therapist (DT)
  • Certified nurse midwives (CNM)
  • Pharmacists (Pharm)
  • Marriage and family therapists (MFT)
  • Health service psychologists (PhD)
  • Licensed clinical social workers (LCSW)
  • Licensed alcohol and substance abuse counselors (LADAC)
  • Licensed professional counselors (LPC)
  • Psychiatric nurse specialists (PNS)
  • Registered clinical dental hygienists (RDH)
  • Health service psychologist (HSP)
  • Registered dietitian (RD)

Amount of funding

Up to $75,000 for primary care providers and $50,000 for dental and mental health providers for a 2 year commitment. Renewal may be available for up to half of the initial award amount per one-year renewal term, based on discipline. Renewal is not guaranteed and is considered after new applicants.

Applications are accepted and evaluated between July 1st and August 31st annually.
