Oklahoma Nursing Student Assistance Program
State of Oklahoma Physician Manpower Training Commission
The Oklahoma Nursing Student Assistance Program offers
forgivable scholarship loans to Oklahoma students pursuing
nursing degrees in return for agreeing to practice in
Oklahoma upon graduation, with an emphasis placed on
practicing in rural communities.
Loans are forgiven if students complete a service
contract. Loans are forgiven at the rate of one year of
service per year of loan.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, legal residents of
Oklahoma, and unconditionally admitted as a student in an
accredited program of nursing study.
Eligible nursing degrees include:
- Licensed practical nursing (LPN)
- Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN)
- Master's of science in nursing (MSN)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Amount of funding
LPNs - $1,500-$3,000 per program
ADNs - $2,500-$5,000 per academic
BSNs - $3,500-$7,000 per academic
MSNs/DNPs - $5,000-$10,000 per academic
Amounts are determined by the actual costs of attending
per program/academic year and whether or not the student
has matching funds from a sponsor.
