Tennessee State Loan Repayment Program
A supplemental application cycle will be open from January 15, 2019 through March 15, 2019 for primary care behavioral and mental health psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse specialists, and licensed clinical social workers.

The Tennessee State Loan Repayment Program (TSLRP) offers loan repayment assistance to primary care practitioners who agree to serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area of Tennessee.
Recipients must agree to a full-time service contract for a minimum of 2 years.
A supplemental application cycle will be open from January 15, 2019 through March 15, 2019 for primary care behavioral and mental health psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse specialists, and licensed clinical social workers.
For the current open application cycle, eligible professions include:
- Primary care behavioral and mental health psychiatrists
- Psychiatric nurse specialists
- Licensed clinical social workers

During past cycles, eligible professions have included:
- Primary care physicians
- Family medicine
- Osteopathic medicine
- Pediatrics
- Obstetrics and gynecology
- Geriatrics
- Primary care behavioral and mental health psychiatrists
- Dentists
- Psychiatric nurse specialists
- Advanced practice nurses
- Primary care physician assistants
- Licensed clinical social workers
The maximum award is $50,000 for an initial 2-year service obligation.
Recipients in good standing have the option to renew their service contract for a maximum of $20,000 per year as long as they still have outstanding loan balances.
