Purpose

The Iowa Health Professional Recruitment Program (HPRP) offers loan repayment assistance for graduates of Des Moines University's osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, physical therapy, and physician assistant programs.

Applicants must agree to a full-time, 4-year practice commitment in Iowa, in a medically underserved community that is located in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) or a Governor's Designated Rural Health Clinic county. Preference is given to Iowa residents and communities of 10,000 or less.

Eligibility

Graduates of Des Moines University's osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, physical therapy, and physician assistant programs are eligible to apply.

Amount of funding

Applicants are eligible for up to $100,000 in loan repayment. The state will match up to $50,000 of the funds committed by the employer/hospital.
