West Virginia State Loan Repayment Program

The West Virginia State Loan Repayment Program offers loan repayment assistance to primary care health professionals who agree to practice in a Health Professional Shortage Area of West Virginia.
Applicants must agree to a minimum 2 year service contract, with a maximum of 4 years.
Eligible professions include:
- Primary care physicians
- Nurse practitioners
- Physician assistants
- Nurse midwives
- Psychiatrists
- Dentists
- Pharmacists
- Nurses (BSN)
Maximum award amounts vary by profession as follows:
Physicians and dentists:
- $50,000 for initial 2 years and $25,000 for 1 year extensions
Physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists:
- $40,000 for initial 2 years and $20,000 for 1 year extensions
Nurses (BSN):
- $25,000 for initial 2 years and $12,500 for 1 year extensions
