Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship
The Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship awards funds to students pursuing registered nursing or licensed practical nursing degrees who agree to serve at a medical facility in Kansas upon graduation. While any location in Kansas is eligible, a large portion of scholarship recipients choose to go to rural or shortage areas.
Scholarship recipients must work at an eligible facility for 1 year per year of scholarship awarded.
Kansas residents pursuing education in a qualified program at a Kansas college or university are eligible to apply.
An eligible sponsor is any adult care home, psychiatric hospital, mental health or treatment facility, medical care facility, home health agency, local health department, or any state agency licensed by the State of Kansas that employs LPNs or RNs.
LPN students are eligible for $4,000 each school year.
RN students are eligible for $5,000 each school year.
Sponsorship is not required, but it will increase the amount of funding awarded to the recipient. If the recipient has a sponsor, they are required to work for that facility after graduation.
