Purpose

The Alabama Power Foundation offers grants to nonprofit organizations in Alabama working in one of the following areas:

  • Educational advancement
  • Civic and community development
  • Arts and cultural enrichment
  • Health and human services
  • Environmental stewardship

Priority is given to projects that address underserved segments of the population, such as racial or ethnic minorities, people experiencing poverty, or underprivileged communities with fewer opportunities.

Eligibility

Organizations must have 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Amount of funding

While grants amounts have been up to $100,000, historically most have been under $5,000.
